Duapa Trust also referred to as "Duapa" started operating as a Co-Operative Credit Union in July 2009 mobilizing funds from young professionals into a pool-of-fund to support viable micro businesses in Accra.

Duapa Trust was later registered as a Limited by Guarantee Company under the laws of Ghana to source for funds to support small and Micro businesses, provide micro finance training and support social intervention projects.

The name Duapa Trust was derived from a popular Ghanaian saying that "wo foro dua pa a, na wopia wo" literally translated as "when someone climbs a "good tree", he/she will be pushed/helped" meaning "when someone embarks on a useful task he/she must be supported". It is this trust that Duapa Trust stands for!  Duapa Trust believes in the entrepreneur spirit of the ordinary Ghanaian whose contribution to the growth and development of the economy cannot be overlooked.
